BARRIE - Get intimate and interactive with Juno-nominated musicians Suzie Vinnick and Rick Fines at a benefit 'house concert' for Furry Friends Animal Shelter. No need to drive to Toronto or Casino Rama for first-rate talent. These stars will be performing just a few minutes away - in Innisfil!

This concert takes place during Animal Health Week (October 2-8) which aims to promote animal health and responsible animal ownership. Proceeds from the concert will go to care for abandoned and abused cats and kittens at Furry Friends.

Suzie Vinnick was nominated for a 2009 Juno in the Roots & Traditional Album of the Year and won the 2008 Canadian Maple Blues Female Vocalist of the Year. She has been featured nationally on CBC Radio on Stuart McLean's Vinyl Cafe and has performed across Canada and the US.

Rick Fines is a veteran of the folk and blues circuits in North America. His song "Riley Wants His Life Back"won first place in the blues category of the 2003 International Songwriting Competition with BB King as one of the judges. He also won the Maple Blues Award for Songwriter of the Year and has received nominations from both the Juno and Hand Awards.
